4. Jarrett Stidham

Brady’s successor also thoroughly deserves his spot on this list. Stidham might be the most unproven quarterback commodity in the entire NFL heading into the 2020 season. He’ll arguably face even more pressure in New England than Brady will in Tampa Bay.

Everyone inside the Patriots franchise is saying the right things about the former Auburn star. Belichick’s decision not to bring in a legitimate challenger for him this offseason speaks volumes. Then again, Cam Newton is still out there and could descend upon Foxborough at any time.

If the Patriots do stick with Stidham expect them to become the most run dominant offense in the league. That’s part of the reason why they placed the franchise tag on Joe Thuney at left guard. This team is going to do everything possible to make sure Stidham isn’t required to win games with his arm.

Even the most enthusiastic of Stidham’s supporters aren’t projecting him to be anything more than a league average starter this year. The combination of his modest ceiling and really low floor makes him one of the worst starters in the league. The fact that he’s being trusted to take the Patriots back to the playoffs makes him wildly overrated.
