Nick Saban wants you to wear a mask in new social distancing PSA
In a new PSA, Alabama football coach Nick Saban wants you to wear a mask.
Earlier in the college football offseason which, like everything else, has been affected by the coronavirus outbreak in the United States, Alabama Crimson Tide head coach Nick Saban offered the world a PSA. Now the thespian side of Saban is back at it once again.
As the world continues to cross its collective fingers in hopes that college football — in some form or fashion — will be able to return in the fall, Saban is here with Alabama associate athletics director Jeff Allen and, of course, everyone’s favorite elephant, Big Al, to remind everyone about social distancing rules and wearing a mask.
Prepare yourself for the most enthralling 40 seconds of your day:
Three immediate thoughts:
1. If Saban is now eligible for some type of online content creation, give him the award now.
2. Social distancing with that trunk has to be tough for Big Al.
3. Saban wants (needs) college football back.
With Wednesday’s ruling that colleges and universities are allowed to open for voluntary activities on June 1, the thought of college football returning is on everyone’s mind at this point. And if there’s one way to ensure that everyone in Tuscaloosa and that every Alabama football fan is doing their part with social distancing and wearing masks, it’s to tell them that it will help bring back football in the fall — and to have Saban tell them to do it, naturally.
Not only is this an effective PSA in that regard but, let’s be honest, it’s never not entertaining to watch the Crimson Tide head coach in this type of situation. He’s like a robot that computer engineers are trying to teach comedy to. And frankly, it makes me want Saban to give PSA’s for everything, not just when there’s a pandemic.
