Indianapolis Colts. 4. player. 46. Pick Analysis. AFC. South. Scouting Report

While the Arizona Cardinals feel very much like an outside pipe dream at winning a Super Bowl, there is a better and more realistic equivalent of them in the AFC and they’re called the Indianapolis Colts. Though they haven’t won a Super Bowl since Peyton Manning played for them, here are a few reasons we may see another Lombardi Trophy in Indianapolis in the next few years.

The single biggest thing the Colts have going for them is general manager Chris Ballard. What he’s done since taking over for owner Jim Irsay’s former lifting buddy Ryan Grigson is crush every single NFL Draft he’s been a part of. The Colts traded their first-round pick for defensive lineman DeForest Buckner and still ended up picking Michael Pittman Jr., Jonathan Taylor AND Jacob Eason.

If you think the Colts are winning the Super Bowl in 2020 with laborious Philip Rivers heave after laborious Philip Rivers heave, you are sorely mistaken. However, he’ll be coaching high school football this time next year and Colts head coach Frank Reich will see what Eason, the fourth-round pick out of Washington, has got. He was a five-star recruit coming out of high school.

If Eason hits, he becomes a Russell Wilson, Kirk Cousins, Dak Prescott-type of undervalued quarterback on his rookie deal. The difference between Eason and those three is he has a Jeff George-level howitzer for a right arm. If he proves more mature than the Indianapolis native from yesteryear, Eason can help a loaded Colts team win a Super Bowl within the next three years.
