Florida Atlantic lands the son of Deion Sanders, a four-star quarterback prospect.

Shedeur Sanders, the son of Deion Sanders, commits to Florida Atlantic.

Deion is a former Florida State Seminole who became an all-time great cornerback in the NFL and also played in an MLB World Series for the Atlanta Braves in 1992. Deion won two Super Bowls, made eight Pro Bowls and was a first-ballot Hall of Fame selection in 2011. Deion’s youngest son, Shedeur, has committed to play football on a collegiate level on Monday.

Shedeur is a four-star quarterback recruit who is seeking to follow his father’s footsteps on a path to get to the NFL. He’ll also be playing in the same state his father played collegiate football.

”I want to write my own legacy! No. 2,” Shedeur tweeted Monday.

In 2019, Shedeur had a phenomenal season in high school. He threw for 60 passing touchdowns to only four interceptions, passing for 3,459 yards at Trinity Christian School.

“I want to compete to play as a freshmen. With everything going on in our country, there is so much important to me. And one of those things is to play for a black head coach, one that’s real to me,” Shedeur said in his announcement video.

After a montage of celebrities and athletes such as Snoop Dogg and Brett Favre asking Shedeur where he is committing to, Shedeur reveals the phone call the moment he decided to commit. Shedeur calls Florida Atlantic head coach Willie Taggart to reveal that both he and his high school teammate Cam’Ron Silmon are committing to play for the Owls.

“We’re in,” Shedeur told Taggart on the phone call. “Paradise we are on our way.”

Shedeur reportedly had offers from at least 25 schools.

Earlier this offseason period, Shedeur was making headlines for working out with his father and Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady.
