Fantasy Football Sleepers 2020: Bengals QB Joe Burrow
Joe Burrow has the chance to join a slew of rookies in fantasy dominance this season.
The first overall selection in the 2020 NFL Draft has a chance to be a fantasy league-winner in 2020 as well. Joe Burrow joins the list of fantasy football sleepers due to his own ability and the weapons that surround him. He not only carries a huge list of accolades into his first season as a member of the Cincinnati Bengals but the ability to be a difference-maker in his first year also. Here’s why Burrow can be another rookie quarterback to be an instant fantasy starter in his debut season.
Burrow had a legendary historic season in 2019 for the LSU Tigers. He totaled 5,671 yards through the air and a whopping 60 touchdowns on his way to winning the Heisman Trophy and College Football National Championship. With those incredible statistics should come lofty expectations, and yet, his cumulative fantasy football ranking is nothing to be nervous about if you are interested in the Bengals quarterback this season.
FantasyPros has him ranked as the No. 20 quarterback heading into the 2020 season. Something of which was relatable to Kyler Murray last season. Murray finished at the QB8. And if you look at what both men have on their roster in their rookie seasons, Burrow’s supporting cast blows Murray’s out of the water. Making Burrow one of the most tempting fantasy football sleepers of the year.
Wide receiver A.J. Green will return to the Bengals this season and has a lot to prove as he tries to not only work for a contract but to show he is still the Pro Bowler he has been for a long time. Add in the fact that the Bengals have in one of the most talented running backs in football, Joe Mixon. Mixon also has a lot to prove as he believes he should be paid like one of the best in football and could even holdout. Most expect him to play and show why he should be paid.
Burrow’s other weapons on offense will also include receivers Tyler Boyd, John Ross, and fellow rookie Tee Higgins, creating one of the best young receiving cores in all of football.
It’s easy to believe that Burrow will join the likes of Murray, Dak Prescott, and plenty other quarterback rookies in the past who burst onto the scene and establish themselves as viable fantasy options. Burrow should be the real deal this season and is worth the late-round flier as one of the best sleepers this year.
