LeBron James is fresh off another championship but what do players in the generation after him think about his GOAT status?

Keeping busy during a pandemic can be challenging especially for NBA players now that the “bubble” has come to and end with no clear idea when the 2020-21 season will start.

Aaron Gordon and Andre Drummond are biding their time in the sponsored “Got Milk?” #EpicMilkDunk challenge showing off their skills and their palatial abodes. There was a commitment to excellence as dropping an Oreo into milk from a distance can take a moment.

“I think the hardest one for me to do was when I was in the pool sitting on the floatie,” Drummond said. “That one took and hour and a half to do.”

Gordon’s Orlando Magic participated in the “bubble” losing to Milwaukee 4-1 in the opening round while Drummond played eight games with Cleveland after being traded from Detroit.

“It’s really hard to focus with all the social injustice going on in the world,” Gordon said. “Also, it’s challenging to consistently not have a winning season. It’s nice that Orlando has been able to turn it around and make it to the playoffs the last two years.”

Drummond would have loved an opportunity to play more basketball with Cleveland while trying to see a positive side to the pandemic.

“It’s been such a crazy time,” Drummond said. “It’s been so frustrating and so challenging because of the pandemic and not being able to play the sport that I love especially for me being traded to Cleveland and not getting the chance to get acclimated to a new city. I think this pandemic has been a blessing in disguise to a lot of guys just having this break to take care of your body really re-focus and worry about the things that matter most which is your family and we all come back I think the NBA will be in tip-top shape.”

Drummond and Gordon both had an eye on the NBA Finals seeing LeBron James win his 4th championship. They are on the LeBron side of the GOAT conversations.

“I think for our generation I would say LeBron, but in terms of just all around Michael Jordan is still up there,” Drummond said. “I feel like any kid who was born after Mike was retired there is no way in hell they would even have that argument. They would say LeBron for sure.”

Drummond’s future is unclear. Most expect he will opt-in and stay with Cleveland for the 2020-21 season and perhaps work on an extension. After teaming up with Drummond in the “EpicMilkDunk challenge, Gordon wouldn’t mind doing it on the court.

“That would be dope being able to throw lobs to Dre,” Gordon said.
