It was an ugly weekend of football, and more than a few quarterbacks played like they are fighting for a spot on the bench rather than the huddle.

The slate of games for Week 11 of the NFL season played a lot like most regular-season openers do. Most games were ugly, but at least we got a classic between the Green Bay Packers and Indianapolis Colts.

In terms of the quarterback play, we saw Los Angeles Chargers rookie Justin Herbert pick apart the winless New York Jets, uncrowned XFL MVP P.J. Walker win in his first career start with the Carolina Panthers and Deshaun Watson light up the New England Patriots. Besides those bright spots from those quarterbacks, there were others that should burn the game film after viewing it this week. Seriously, they were so bad, that they deserved a benching.

Here are the three passers who didn’t protect their job security.

Carson Wentz’s play has been under much scrutiny this season and for good reason. He’s never been the same since tearing his ACL in the 2017 season, but he at least looked like a good quarterback in the subsequent two seasons. This year, Wentz has played like the physical embodiment of 2020, and that’s not a good thing.

He continued to boggle the minds of Philadelphia Eagles fans with his performance against the Cleveland Browns. Wentz should’ve had a field day against their defense, who was without star defensive lineman Myles Garrett. Instead, he had multiple lapses in judgement.

In the first half, Wentz forced a pass to running back Miles Sanders on a wheel route, but his throw was off target, and landed directly in the hands of Browns linebacker Sione Takitaki for a pick-six. That wasn’t his only interception of the game, as he overthrew Alshon Jeffery in the red zone and Cleveland’s top cornerback Denzel Ward hauled it in to secure the victory. All in all, Wentz completed 21-of-35 passes for 235 yards, two touchdowns and two interceptions.

With every team in the NFC East holding three wins on the season, the Eagles need to make some drastic changes if they want to make the playoffs for the third-consecutive year. Their best chance of doing so could be by benching Wentz in favor of Jalen Hurts. Let’s face it, Wentz did himself no favors on Sunday.
