3. Do not doubt Romeo Doubs

Do not doubt Nevada’s Romeo Doubs.

The 6-foot-2, 200-pound wide receiver burst on the scene in 2020 with 58 receptions for 1,002 yards and nine touchdowns as a junior.

His breakout game came when he caught 12 balls against Wyoming for 117 and a touchdown in the season opener. Then, I watched him torch UNLV for 219 yards and a touchdown on seven catches. He followed that up with a three-touchdown game vs. Utah State where he had seven catches for 137 yards.

Doubs has long speed reminiscent of a gazelle and takes immaculate strides and glides by secondaries. He’s separating from defensive backs and leaving them in a cloud of smoke. Doubs was often seen catching deep passes from Strong and is so good at winning 50-50 battles.

He has strong hands, excellent speed and is a crisp route runner but he needs to work on expanding his route tree this season. Something that would greatly benefit both Doubs and Strong is if they hooked up on outside throws to the sideline more and intermediate passes in the middle of the field. It’s important for Doubs to become more of a complete receiver to be a Day 2 draft pick.
