3 realistic goals for San Antonio Spurs in 2021 NBA Playoffs
1. Get the young players necessary experience
The Spurs are a team filled with young talent. Dejounte Murray is on a deal that will keep him in town for years, and someone like Keldon Johnson wants to prove he can be a future star in San Antonio.
The list goes on as the young Spurs want to form a new championship core in town. Gregg Popovich is one of the best coaches in all of sports and understands the importance of gaining proper experience while also trying to win.
Getting the young guys real playoff experience can come if the first two goals on this list come to fruition. Even one win in the play-in tournament would be a huge boost and is arguably better than making the normal postseason slate, only to get swept or win one game.
Watching DeRozan go to work can inspire someone like Johnson, while Murray can try to go off as well and put the team on his back. Even big man Jakob Poetl wants to prove he belongs for the long haul.
The Spurs are not expected to do much in the postseason. Proving the doubters wrong can go a long way toward building another dynasty down in Texas.
