2. Outfielder Brennen Davis

Davis is hitting .278 in Double-A at the moment, but he’s been on fire in his last few games, including his first home run at that level. Calling him up right now would be a bit of a risk, but give if a month so Davis can get his feet wet against Double-A pitching, and he should be ready for the move to the North Side.

The Cubs could use some outfield depth, and even if he isn’t starting every day, Chicago’s No. 2 prospect will provide value at the bottom of the lineup and on the basepaths.

Davis has an OBP of .395 and a slugging percentage of .472. He’s a five-tool player in Chicago’s system that, at 21 years old, is likely a year away from reaching his minor-league peak.

Calling him up right now sounds premature on paper, but could pay dividends in the long run.
