LeBron James opened the Lakers’ season shooting absolutely lights out so, naturally, Skip Bayless had to chime in for a wild troll job.

Few people in the sports world have been as consistently critical of LeBron James than Skip Bayless. The FS1 talking head has been a constant voice questioning the Lakers superstar and asking more of the perennial MVP candidate and multi-time NBA champion.

So, as James and the Lakers helped open the 2021-22 season on Tuesday night by hosting the Golden State Warriors, imagine Bayless’ surprise when LeBron opened the game with an unconscious shooting display that even Stephen Curry would be jealous of.

James started the game going 6-of-6 from the field, including 2-of-2 from deep. Rather than fully praise the future Hall-of-Famer, though, Skip Bayless thought it would be better to troll him and Lakers fans.

Skip Bayless trolling LeBron James, Lakers fans is just enough to get under your skin

At this point, everyone knows this is what Bayless’ schtick is. He’s going to try and rile people up by making useless and pointless arguments that either distracts people from the real point or spark conversation.

While true, it’d be quite hard as a Lakers fan to not get at least slightly annoyed with unnecessary pot-shots and slights such as this.

LeBron James may not be a perfect player, but there’s never been one of those — not even Kevin Durant. However, he’s more than earned the respect of Lakers and NBA fans alike at this point. He’s an all-time great.

And for what it’s worth, KD and the Nets got run off the floor by the Bucks in the first game of NBA Opening Night. So on top of the fickle nature of his comments from the jump, Skip Bayless picked an odd time to make them as well.
