A new era begins for WWE Smackdown this Friday. Just one day after competing in Saudi Arabia at “Crown Jewel“, the WWE Superstars will have a quick turnaround.
Smackdown will take place on Oct. 22 at the INTRUST Bank Arena in Wichita, KS.
Friday’s episode will mark the season premiere of Smackdown. The show will also feature fresh faces, as the program will showcase the new roster members following the WWE Draft.
With only four weeks until Survivor Series, Smackdown should be packed with new rivalries and storylines. WWE officials Adam Pierce and Sonya Deville were able to secure WWE Universal Champion, “Tribal Chief” Roman Reigns, along with his cousins Jimmy and Jey Uso on the blue brand.
Headliners coming to Smackdown from Monday Night Raw include Women’s Champion, Charlotte Flair, and former WWE Champion Drew McIntyre. After losing current WWE Champion Big E to Monday Night Raw, Smackdown was able to acquire his New Day brothers in Kofi Kingston and newly crowned King of the Ring, Xavier Woods.
An interesting component to the WWE Draft every year is the anticipation of the call-ups from NXT. This year is no different, as call-ups will include Aliyah, Austin Theory, Ridge Holland, Xia Li, and the stable “Hit Row”, consisting of Isaiah “Swerve” Scott, Ashante “Thee” Adonis, Top Dolla, and B-Fab.
Here is everything you need to know to tune into WWE Smackdown.
