12. Buddy Hield — Sacramento Kings

We are starting to get into the significant names on this list. Buddy Hield has had a very strange career with the Sacramento Kings. He seems like he’s been in trade rumors since he got to the Kings, which by the way was six seasons ago. He came over in the trade that sent DeMarcus Cousins to the New Orleans Pelicans.

Hield seems like he’s finally on the cusp of getting moved this season. The Kings are in a messy situation. They fired head coach Luke Walton after a 6-11 start. Alvin Gentry took over, and the Kings still aren’t that good. They are technically one game out from a playoff spot, but the team is 10 games under .500. The Western Conference is extremely weak at the bottom, so maybe it’s worth it for the Kings to push for a spot in 10th. However, it’s like the Kings just try to find the best pieces for the future.

Buddy Hield is averaging 15 points off the bench for the Kings. He’s only started six games this season, but he’s still performing on the stat sheet. He is shooting under 40% from the field. That needs to get better, but he’s never been that bad at shooting field goals. Getting him on a better team will likely lead to better results for him.

Hield needs to find the right team and the right contender to get the best out of himself. He likely won’t go to one of the top contenders. Most of those teams don’t want a 15-point scorer unless that player is a super-duper star. He will likely go to a team in the middle and he might end up staying there long-term if it fits.
