Texas A&M football lands highest-rated recruiting class of all time
By Ethan Lee
Jimbo Fisher has been busy building up the future of the Texas A&M football program and that could potentially pay off big for the Aggies later down the line.
The Texas A&M Aggies officially have the best recruiting class in history. Jimbo Fisher and the Aggies were able to bring in the most talented class college football has ever seen, according to the folks over at 247Sports.
247Sports ranks the players and recruiting classes and they’re definitely familiar with how talented this bunch is.
The Aggies very comfortably sit at No. 1 here, but even the No. 2 class, the Alabama Crimson Tide, is one of the best of all time. Speaking of Alabama, the Crimson Tide previously held the record for the highest-rated class ever with their 2021 signing class.
But, just as Fisher and A&M beat Nick Saban and the Crimson Tide at Kyle Field in early October, A&M has beaten Alabama once again.
Texas A&M football: Jimbo Fisher, Aggies sign best recruiting class of all time
The Aggies have been trying to break through and win a championship ever since they moved to the Southeastern Conference. There have been multiple bright moments dating back to 2012, from Johnny Football’s Heisman trophy to Jimbo Fisher going 9-1 in 2020, Texas A&M has shown some promise and potential.
But now, this recruiting class could really make a difference for Fisher and the Aggies. This group of recruits, which appears to be the most talented signing class ever assembled, could help A&M finally get to the mountain top.
A&M has often struggled to live up to its potential. Teams like Mississippi State, Auburn, Ole Miss, and others have found success against the Aggies since A&M’s move to the SEC. But a recruiting class like this should be good enough to put Fisher and the Aggies in position to truly compete for a championship.
It remains to be seen if that’s what the Aggies will do. It’s possible they’ll underachieve or lose some of this class to the transfer portal. In addition to that, Saban should still be ready to win another title (or two) and Kirby Smart has things rolling at Georgia.
Still, the folks in College Station should be excited about what their future could be.
