With the Houston Texans expected to trade Deshaun Watson, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers would make sense as a landing spot.

Since it was determined that no legal consequences will be coming for former Pro Bowl quarterback Deshaun Watson, more and more trade speculation has arrived. Where will the signal-caller end up?

While Watson has been linked to the Seahawks, Panthers, Saints and more, Pro Football Network is reporting that the Tampa Bay Buccaneers are also showing interest. With Tom Brady retiring, Watson would potentially take over the offense for the future Hall-of-Famer.

Deshaun Watson being traded to the Bucs would be huge for Tampa Bay

From the moment this report arrived, Tampa Bay fans have been begging for it to happen on Twitter. Watson missed all of last season due to his uncertainty from his sexual assault case. On Friday, a grand jury determined that no charges would be filed.

While speaking to the media, Watson said he was relieved his name was cleared and he’s now focused on getting back on the field and playing like his old self. The last time football fans saw Watson in action was the 2020 season. That campaign, he threw for 4,823 yards, 33 touchdowns and only seven interceptions. He added 269 more yards on the ground, plus two scores.

Trading for Watson won’t come cheap, as it’s expected the Texans would want at least multiple draft picks in return. For Tampa Bay, they could see Watson as their long-term option to replace Brady. If they put together a sexy enough package too, it could be tough for Houston to turn things down.

There’s some steep competition for Watson, so the sooner Tampa Bay can try and finalize things, the better. Only time will tell where Watson suits up next season,  but a trade could be going down in the near future.
