Chris Beard and his Texas basketball team have plenty to be proud of as the Longhorns were able take down the Virginia Tech Hokies.

March Madness will continue for Chris Beard and his Texas basketball team.

Longhorn fans should be pretty happy with how the Longhorns are advancing on in the NCAA Tournament. It’s been a while since Texas  was able to get a single win in the NCAA Tournament and the Longhorns did just that when they beat the Virginia Tech Hokies.

Friday evening, Texas beat Virginia Tech 81-73 and is now advancing on to face off against the Purdue Boilermakers.

And with a win comes a celebration and it looks like the Longhorns sure seem to know how to celebrate.

March Madness: Watch Texas basketball celebrate NCAA Tournament win over Virginia Tech Hokies

This was Texas’ first win in the NCAA Tournament in eight years. The last itme the Longhorns were able to find some success in March was all the way back in 2014. So, this win is bigger than many might want to admit.

The Longhorns probably aren’t “back,” but they did need this win to show that this program was indeed moving in the right direction once more.

Texas does have a real shot at getting back to the Sweet Sixteen for the first time since 2008 though. That’s pretty notable, all things considered.

Beard is a really good coach. He’s got Texas back to winning. Maybe the Longhorns will be able to continue shocking some folks and make it on further in the NCAA Tournament than many would have ever expected them to.
