Robert Quinn: 3 teams who should trade for star pass-rusher
By John Buhler
A return to the Dallas Cowboys could bring out a return of The Mighty Quinn
Quinn has already played for the Dallas Cowboys before, albeit for only one season. However, America’s Team is in need of some juice after losing emerging pass-rushing star Randy Gregory to the Denver Broncos over the finer details from his contract negotiations. Quinn had 11.5 sacks with the Cowboys three years ago, so just imagine what he can do playing in Dan Quinn’s defense.
It will be so much Quinn, the NFC East is just going to give up and hand the Cowboys the crown if this trade happens. New Bears head coach Matt Eberflus had been with Dallas prior to taking over the Indianapolis Colts defense two gigs ago. If the Cowboys’ pass rush is as menacing as expected, this team cannot only win the division, but get to the conference title for the first time since 1995.
Overall, the complexities of trading Quinn in-conference are challenging. While Chicago may want draft capital anywhere it can get it ahead of an obvious rebuilding year for them, the Bears would probably prefer Quinn is wreaking havoc on quarterbacks over in the AFC, as opposed to being tasked with bringing Justin Fields to the turf whenever these two teams meet on the NFL gridiron.
Quinn to the Cowboys satisfies a need, but Dallas will have to give up more to get him in a trade.
