The 2022 Stanley Cup Final begins on Wednesday, June 15, as the Tampa Bay Lightning take on the Colorado Avalanche.

The Stanley Cup Final officially begins on Wednesday, June 15. The Tampa Bay Lightning look to complete the three-peat as Stanley Cup Champions, but they will have to get past the high-scoring Colorado Avalanche to do so.

Tampa Bay overcome adversity throughout these playoffs. They were on the verge of elimination in the first-round against the Toronto Maple Leafs, but they overcame a 3-2 deficit to advance. Then in the Eastern Conference Finals, they lost the first two games to the New York Rangers before winning the next four. Now, they have the chance to become the first team to win the Stanley Cup in three consecutive seasons since the 1980-82 New York Islanders.

Colorado, on the other hand, have shown that they can score goals with relative ease. In just 14 games, the Avalanche have scored 65 goals, tied for the most in the playoffs. The Edmonton Oilers are the other team, but they scored that amount of goals in 16 games. The Avalanche have lost just two games in these playoffs, and they came in the second round against the St. Louis Blues. They swept the Nashville Predators in the opening round and the Oilers in the Western Conference Finals.
