Top 5 bust candidates for fantasy football 2022
4. Joe Burrow, QB, Cincinnati Bengals
Look, I’m not saying the Bengals’ budding superstar quarterback who just made the Super Bowl is going to be a bad fantasy quarterback, but he’s being drafted as the QB6 so far in drafts. He finished as the QB8 last year, and even that was inflated by a couple of massive games.
Through the first 12 weeks of the season, Joe Burrow was the QB12. He was waiver wire and bye week fill-in material for most of the season. He then had two top-three weeks against Baltimore in Week 16 and Kansas City in Week 17, which brought him up into the top-eight range.
Burrow is likely headed for a top-ten finish, but I wouldn’t draft him over players such as Jalen Hurts, Dak Prescott, or Matthew Stafford, who have much higher upside at a discounted cost compared to Burrow.
