Kelee Ringo needs to limit the penalties and keep Quentin Johnson in front of him

Kelee Ringo is already a Georgia legend for his national title-clinching pick-six over Alabama last postseason, but he has become synonymous with the yellow laundry in his redshirt sophomore season. Although his talent is undeniable, probably good enough to be a first-round pick in the 2023 NFL Draft should he declare, Ringo has become the defensive back the opposition targets.

Admittedly, Ohio State had about as deep of a receiving corps as any team in the country. Even if the Buckeyes played without Jaxon Smith-Njigba and lost Marvin Harrison Jr. down the stretch, C.J. Stroud had little issues moving the sticks on the Georgia secondary. Ringo made a few plays of his own, but he has to play a cleaner game vs. TCU when Quentin Johnston and company arrive in L.A.

No, we are not asking for Ringo to pick-six Max Duggan to seal the deal like he did with Bryce Young last national championship. He just cannot make careless plays out on an island vs. a TCU team that thrives amid adverse situations. If you give TCU an inch, the Horned Frogs will take a mile. They are incredibly well-coached, so the more disciplined team will have a great shot to win.

If it is bend but don’t break out of Ringo, that is fine, but he cannot have another frustrating game.
