Brooklyn Nets center Andray Blatche has become part of an unwanted distraction for the team. Earlier on Monday, it was reported that an unnamed Nets player was questioned in a sexual assault case. As it turns out, Blatche was the player who was brought in for questioning.

Here are the details provided earlier in the day from NBCPhiladelphia.com:

"Police tell NBC10 that a woman was taken from the Four Seasons Hotel on 18th and the Benjamin Franklin Parkway to a local hospital just before 4 a.m. The woman told police she was raped by someone inside the hotel, according to investigators. They are questioning a man inside a Four Season’s hotel room regarding the incident. Police also say a Brooklyn Nets player was in the hotel suite at the time of the alleged incident but was not in the bedroom where it may have occurred."

Blatche took to Twitter to defend himself, but the tweet was quickly removed. Thanks to some fine work from Howard Beck of the New York Times, we were able to snag what Blatche posted.

"“Im ok and I didn’t do anything jus was n the area when it happened”"

The good news for Blatche is that he is not belived to have been directly involved in the incident.

“From all accounts, he was not personally involved in any kind of assault or anything like that,” Police Commissioner Charles H. Ramsey said. “He was there but he was not involved.”

The Nets have refused to comment and details are still scarce at this time, but by all accounts it appears that Blatche was just in the wrong place at the wrong time.
