With the 2013 NFL Draft less than two weeks away, it comes as a bit of a surprise that the Wonderlic scores from the NFL Scouting Combine have not been leaked as much as they have in the past. Of course, that doesn’t mean that we haven’t had at least one score surface.

According to the National Football Post, West Virginia quarterback Geno Smith scored a 24 on the test.

From their report:

"Some people have intimated that Geno Smith lacks the aptitude to succeed as an NFL quarterback. But it should be pointed out that Smith scored a pretty impressive 24 on the Wonderlic."

While the Wonderlic scores don’t really mean much for football IQ, it definitely shows Smith has the brain to understand concepts and strategies that he will need to learn in the NFL in order to become a successful signal-caller at the next level.

Most teams look for at least a score of 21 from potential quarterbacks, so Smith certainly meets that criteria.

Smith has been the subject of a lot of pre-draft chatter and this leak goes to show that those questioning his intelligence are way off base. As for where Smith will be selected in the draft, it is only a matter of time until we find out.
