Just LeBron James and Dwyane Wade? No Chris Bosh? Break up the “Big 3”? Seems a bit outlandish, but according to the Boston Globe, the Miami Heat have soured on Bosh and are looking towards the future.

Enter the Charlotte Bobcats (soon to be Hornets) who want to make a “big” splash in free agency this Summer, but may struggle to do so and might be willing to move their first round draft pick to land Bosh, at least, so says Gary Washburn.

Per the Boston Globe:

"There are rumors the Miami Heat will be looking to deal Chris Bosh, and the Bobcats, who are under the salary cap and could accept Bosh’s near-maximum deal could be a prime candidate. As much as Charlotte would love to build through the draft, team officials understand they have to start winning and need a player to be the face of their franchise. Bosh could serve that purpose."

Serve that purpose? I don’t know about that. Bosh, despite his success in Toronto (if you want to call it that) wasn’t exactly known as a prime-time player even though his stats were pretty to look at. The former Georgia Tech talent had his toughness questioned by fellow players and fans and I’m personally hard pressed to think the Charlotte franchise would part with their 4th overall pick in the 2013 NBA Draft for Bosh, despite the need to quickly improve their woeful roster.

Either way, the NBA trade rumor mill is in full swing.
