Tampa Bay Rays pitcher Alex Cobb was nailed in the head off the bat of Kansas City Royals first baseman Eric Hosmer. Cobb was taken from the field immobilized on a stretcher, but that was just a precautionary reason and now Cobb seems to be doing just fine.

According to the latest reports and injury updates, Cobb suffered a “mild concussion” and he is already in good spirits in the hospital.

The good news for Cobb is that the ball hit his ear. Outside of a minor cut, there appears to be no visual damage.

Teammate David Price even took to Twitter to let fans know how Cobb was currently doing in the hospital.

This is all great news.

As we have seen in the past, these types of incidents can be very dangerous and potentially even life-threatening. For Cobb, he will walk away with some bruises and one hell of a headache, but this does not appear to be as serious as it initially looked.

We continue to wish Cobb the best.
