Former New England Patriots tight end Aaron Hernandez just watched his NFL career go down the drain. For days, Hernandez was being investigated for the murder of 27-year-old semi-pro football player Odin Lloyd, and he was finally slapped with murder charges and five other gun related charges on Wednesday afternoon.

While we finally know the charges that Hernandez will face, we are all left wondering how long his prison term will be if he is found guilty.

According to Alex Marvez of FOX Sports, Hernandez could face a minimum of 15 years in prison.

For the most part, the evidence that led to Hernandez’s arrest was circumstantial, but it was one piece of evidence that led to the charges for Hernandez.

After video surveillance showed Hernandez and Odin Lloyd in a car together just moments before the murder heading down the road where his body was found, a shell casing matching the murder weapon was found in the rental car that was registered in Hernandez’s name and linked to the crime.

Hernandez’s lawyer calls all of the evidence against his client “circumstantial” and “not strong”, but the jury will ultimately decide.

The public opinion seems to damn Hernandez, but the court has yet to play out the process.

Let’s all remember that Hernandez is innocent until proven guilty.
