The Houston Rockets pulled out all of the stops during their meeting with Dwight Howard to open the NBA Free Agency period. One of the tactics the Rockets used to make their pitch to Howard was a presentation on an iPad that apparently included a personal Skype call for Howard from former big man Yao Ming. Yao was there to offer his thoughts on why Houston would be a good fit for Howard’s services and offer him the best chance to win.

From Alex Kennedy of Hoops World:

Howard was apparently impressed with the presentation because all reports indicate that the Rockets emerged from the meeting very impressed.

Houston is feeling so good about their pitch that they are not looking at any fall-back options and instead looking to add players that could compliment Howard on the roster.
