Man, how cool would it have been when you were a kid to be at a home run derby? More than that, how awesome would it have been to actually be on the field?

That’s exactly what Robinson Cano’s son was doing last night, hanging with many of his idols, though, after being on the wrong end of a Rick James type slap, Bartolo Colon may have taken himself off the idol list.

After Colon’s teammate Yoenis Cespedes outlasted Bryce Harper of the Washington Nationals in the final round, Colon rushed to hug Cespedes. Unfortunately for Cano’s son, he happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time as can be seen in the video below:

Adding insult to injury, Cano’s son just missed a near People’s Elbow from Cespedes moments before the slap, so he had to be thinking he dodged a bullet.

Guess not.

The best part though might be the kid’s “WTF” reaction at the end.
