Veteran wide receiver Michael Jenkins appears to have fallen behind Kamar Aiken and rookie Aaron Dobson early on during New Englands training camp according to the Boston Globe

On the first full day of full-squad practice, 2nd round pick Aaron Dobson worked with the 1st team offense in 3 wide receiver sets. Fellow rookie Josh Boyce was on the 2nd team, quarterbacked by Ryan Mallet.

Dobson appeared to have passed Mike Jenkins on Friday opposite Danny Amendola. Dobson secured deep passes thrown from both Tom Brady and Ryan Mallet. He is shaping up as a likely starter for New England.

As for Michael Jenkins, that was pretty quick. He got a ton of 1st team reps at spring practice, but is now behind 2nd rounder Dobson and special teamer Kamar Aiken. There are signs that Michael Jenkins may not make this team if this continues on through training camp.

How big of an upset would this be? A rookie putting Molasses Mike Jenkins out of a job? I’m not sure but, if Jenkins wants to remain a Patriot, he needs to step it up.
