Miami Marlins ace Jose Fernandez has destroyed anything standing in his way this season.

At just 22 years old, what Fernandez has done during his rookie year is nothing short of historic.

Owner of a paltry 2.23 ERA, the Cuban native should have no problem being an annual selection at the Major League All-Star game. Though, he may be lacking friends when he attends.

Despite his all-world ability, Fernandez isn’t exactly shy when it comes to hiding it, at least not on the field. He showed that this evening, not on the mound but at the plate when he clobbered a monster home run over the right center field wall and had no problems taking a fifteen minute pimp stroll in the process.

It was a bit too long for the opposing Atlanta Braves, who weren’t overly thrilled with Fernandez’s gawking. Taking offense to the rookies ‘trot’, the Braves (namely Brian McCann, who said something to Fernandez when he touched home plate) cleared the bench though order was quickly restored without further incident.

Tonight could possibly be the final start of the season for Fernandez as the Marlins don’t want to overwork their young ace, but if it is, he certainly went out with a boom – literally.
