Jermichael Finley to play on Sunday despite painful toe
By Josh Sanchez
Green Bay Packers tight end Jermichael Finley is dealing with a painful toe injury that he suffered in the team’s Week One loss, but he is planning on suiting up this weekend when the team looks to bounce back against the Washington Redskins.
Finley understands that playing through pain is part of the game, so he is willing to suck it up and help his team get the first win of the season.
“I feel great. The lights (are) on, right? I’ll be out there, for sure,” Finley said, via ESPN Wisconsin. “It’s a tad bit painful. We’ve got 48 hours to play the game, so there’s a lot going to be done (until) then. I feel great. I’ve got a big pain tolerance. So I’ll be out there, I’ll be fine. I’ve been playing football forever. You get in the league, they try to make things bigger than it is. It’s a toe injury. I’ll be out there.
“(But) it’s crazy, you never think about a toe injury, but when you get it, you know about it, I promise you that.”
Finley had a great camp and looks to be poised to returning to being a big threat for defenses, but he will need to ignore the pain and go out an make plays. For fantasy football owners, start Finley with some caution in Week 2.
