The Green Bay Packers were hoping to get Eddie Lacy involved in the game early, but the rookie wunning back was shaken up early and forced to head to the locker room.
Lacy took a brutal helmet to helmet hit from Washington Redskins defensive back Brandon Meriweather and immediately collapsed to the ground. He was able to initially get up, but went back down to a knee and the medical staff came out to evaluate the first year player.
After some evaluation on the sidelines, Lacy was taken to the locker room.
It is easy to assume Lacy is getting evaluated for a possible concussion after Meriweather launched head first — which should have been a penalty — but there is no official word yet.

The Packers will hope to get Lacy back on the field, but teams will always be cautious when dealing with head injuries. We will keep you updated on his status as more information becomes available.
