San Diego Chargers quarterback Philip Rivers is a pretty nice guy off the field (and on it, for that matter) though he’s a bit of a hot head and has a tendency to whine. That pissing and moaning ofter leads to most non-Charger fans disliking the former North Carolina State signal caller – not exactly shocking.
Rivers gave a prime example of why so many have a distaste for the quarterback today when he launched a verbal attack towards a referee who had just denied the Chargers a touchdown moments earlier.
Rivers had just thrown a touchdown passed to wide receiver Eddie Royal, but it was called back after Royal was charged with offensive pass interference. As you can see, that didn’t sit well with Rivers who had a mini explosion on any referee within his line of vision.
Even worse? Between the pass interference and Rivers’ unsportsmanlike conduct penalty, they went from first and goal to first and thirty plus in the span of one play. Talk about a bad fifteen second stretch.
