Beards are all the rage in professional sports. Of course, to NHL fans, that’s not exactly anything new but in the past few years (likely thanks to Brian Wilson), beards have become far more mainstream. Add in the Boston Red Sox and their cast of characters promoting the growth of beards and it’s become somewhat of a phenomenon.
Case in point? This guy, who guys by the name of Garey Faulkner. You may recall seeing him before as he appeared with a six-pack of beer in his beard during the Cincinnati Bengals’ training camp.
Well, he’s back, though this time he was apparently supporting his favorite basketball team, the Cleveland Cavaliers as he made an appearance during their most recent game against the Washington Wizards. It wasn’t just any appearance though. Faulkner, who travels the country for beard competitions (yes, they have those) decided to get into the hoops spirit and mold his beard to look like a basketball rim, complete with an attached net.
Your move, Wilson. Your move.
