Earlier today, it was reported that Houston Texans quarterback Matt Schaub was dealing with torn ligaments in his ankle. The injury means that Schaub will never be 100 percent again this season, but it also means that he will not be in the starting line up for Week 9.

Instead, head coach Gary Kubiak has announced that Case Keenum will be getting the call against the division rival Indianapolis Colts.

It’s a rough first two NFL starts for Keenum, who previously faced off against the Kansas City Chiefs, but these tough tests early in his career can only help him moving forward.

It will also give the Texans an opportunity to decide whether or not he is really the man that they should trust with the job moving forward.

Keenum will have his work cut out for him, but if he can knock off the Colts and give the Texans their third win of the season, they will still be in the AFC South race and could begin to turn their season around.
