Mario Chalmers hits Dirk Nowitzki with elbow, gets ejected (GIF)

The Miami Heat and the Dallas Mavericks has become some what of a rivalry. They faced of in the 2006 and 2011 NBA Finals. Famously Dirk Nowitzki led the Dallas Mavericks past LeBron James and the Heat in the 2011 NBA Finals.

Things got a little chippy towards the end of the game. Miami Heat guard Mario Chalmers threw an elbow at Nowitzki. It was a clear and blatant cheap shot, you can see it in the GIF below. Keep your eye on the top right hand corner of the image.

Chalmers you could see trying to explain that he was trying to free his arm in like a swim move over the pick and hit Dirk in the process. You can see in the GIF and video that he threw his elbow and forearm into Dirk. He even had to try to reach and get up to get to Dirk’s face.

Chalmers was awarded a flagrant foul type 2 and was ejected. Dwyane Wade came in for Chalmers. Dirk then went to the line and hit both free throws to narrow the lead to three points with 5 minutes left in the game.

Seriously, the NBA should do something about this.
