Last night a report surfaced that the Toronto Raptors were actively trying to trade both Kyle Lowry and DeMar DeRozan, but today comes another update that suggests the opposite is true. HoopsWorld writer Steve Kyler isn’t saying the Raptors aren’t trying to trade Lowry but he did tweet that the team isn’t urgently trying to do so.

The report last night isn’t debunked by this latest update but it shows that the Raptors simply aren’t rushing into a deal to move Lowry. It’s still very likely that the team moves their guard before the trade deadline in a few months but they’re not going to strike a deal they aren’t comfortable with before then. This was already proven in the trade talks with the New York Knicks regarding Lowry and it looks like it will remain true.

Lowry is still a name to keep an eye on in trade rumors but don’t expect any fast moving action on him unless Toronto gets a deal that blows hem away. Until the deadline, the Raptors will likely just keep searching for a deal that works for them without jumping at one without thinking.
