5-star RB Dalvin Cook: ’80 percent committed to Florida Gators’
Miami Central running back Dalvin Cook has been committed to the Florida Gators since Apr. 6 after he decommitted from the Clemson Tigers but despite his long-standing commitment, the five-star back has continued to flirt with other programs.
The Florida State Seminoles and Miami Hurricanes are the top two contenders to flip the 5-11, 190-pound back with 4.4 speed and I think the Seminoles led by the recruiting efforts of Tim Brewster are the likelier of the two.
But just how strong is Cook’s commitment to Will Muschamp and the Gators after they hired Kurt Roper to run the offense in Gainesville?
Therefore there is a 20 percent chance Cook decommits from Florida between now and the Jan. 2 Under Armour All-American game when he plans to make his official decision on where he will play his college football.
The other player mentioned in Derek Tyson’s tweet, Ermon Lane, is a five-star receiver and one of the Sunshine State’s top recruits and a player Florida desperately needs to keep in the fold.
The good news for Florida comes in Tyson’s followup tweet:
If these two stick with their Florida commitments they will be the face of the Gators over the next three-four years along with fellow five-star quarterback Will Grier.
