Premier League leaders Arsenal are ready to pay the £32m release clause in in-form Atletico de Madrid front man Diego Costa’s contract with the La Liga high flyers after a recent injury crisis up front at the Emirates, according to exclusive reports in the Daily Star.
The north London club are currently without both first-choice striker Olivier Giroud and back-up forward Nicklas Bendtner through ankle injuries, meaning that head coach Arsene Wenger will have to enter the transfer market this month in order to sign a new marksman.

Arsenal officials met with Juve general manager Beppe Marrota in London over the new year to discuss Vucinic’s potential move to the Emirates this month, however, the Premier League leaders will now have to fork out £8m if they still wish to proceed with the deal for the striker.
