Gunners to break the bank for La Liga hot shot

Premier League leaders Arsenal are ready to pay the £32m release clause in in-form Atletico de Madrid front man Diego Costa’s contract with the La Liga high flyers after a recent injury crisis up front at the Emirates, according to exclusive reports in the Daily Star.

The north London club are currently without both first-choice striker Olivier Giroud and back-up forward Nicklas Bendtner through ankle injuries, meaning that head coach Arsene Wenger will have to enter the transfer market this month in order to sign a new marksman.

And the player that the Frenchman has identified is Atleti’s red-hot Brazil-born attacker.

Arsenal told to pay £8m for Serie A forward

Serie A champions Juventus have told the Gunners they will have to buy in-demand Montenegro front man Mirko Vucinic if they wish to bring the 30-year-old to north London in the January transfer window, as the Old Lady of Italian Football will not consider a six-month loan deal for the player, says the Daily Mirror.

Arsenal officials met with Juve general manager Beppe Marrota in London over the new year to discuss Vucinic’s potential move to the Emirates this month, however, the Premier League leaders will now have to fork out £8m if they still wish to proceed with the deal for the striker.

French starlet declares his love for the north Londoners

Brilliant young Juventus midfielder Paul Pogba has revealed that he used to dream of playing for Arsenal as a child, claims the Daily Mirror.

The highly rated France international, who was recently voted as the best young player in Europe, left Manchester United in controversial circumstances in the summer of 2012.

And already during his brief time in Turin the 20-year-old has developed into one the brightest stars on the Continent.

Wenger ponders move for ex-Blues star

The north London club have been put on alert after it emerged that experienced Lille forward Salomon Kalou wants to quit the Ligue 1 outfit and return to the Premier League in the January transfer window, says the Daily Star.

The Ivory Coast international left Chelsea for Northern France two years ago, with the 28-year-old having netted an impressive 19 goals in just 47 matches during his time with Lille.

However, with a reported buyout clause valued at just £2.5m in his current contract with the Ligue 1 side, the Gunners may now swoop for Kalou to help ease their current striking shortage at the Emirates.
