Mike Zimmer favorite to land Vikings HC job

The Cincinnati Bengals could be poised to lose another coordinator. The Washington Redskins have already hired Bengals’ offensive coordinator Jay Gruden to be their new head coach.
Now ESPN’s NFL Insider Adam Schefter is reporting that defensive coordinator Mike Zimmer is the favorite to land the Minnesota Vikings head coaching job.
Zimmer led a Top 5 defense in Cincinnati. The Bengals’ defense ranked fifth against the pass allowing just 209 yards per game and fifth against the run allowing just 96.5 yards per game. It’d be tough for the Bengals to continue the success they’ve had in a competitive division while replacing two coordinators.
It is somewhat a surprise that the Vikings would bring in a defensive specialist when they struggled so much offensively. Their defense wasn’t necessarily spectacular either.
