The Seattle Seahawks have made a name for themselves by becoming the Legion of Boom. They got that name by lowering the boom on their opponents time and time again until the name just ended up sticking for good. We hadn’t seen too many powerfully vicious hits in the NFC Championship game but Kam Chancellor made sure there was no doubt about the severity of his hit on Vernon Davis.

Both teams had laid out some big hits on the night, but a lot were either off center or just missed their target. But Chancellor’s hit on Davis unmistakably connected as the boom was lowered in the harshest of ways not he Niners tight end.

The ball was initially ruled a fumble, but it was determined almost immediately that Davis never had the ball. He can thank Chancellor for disrupting his process and he can also thank him for not being able to remember the entire sequence of events.
