Seahawks fans allegedly threw food at 49ers’ NaVorro Bowman (GIF)

The San Francisco 49ers not only lost the 2014 NFC Championship in heartbreaking fashion, but they also lost star linebacker and potential Defensive Player of the Year award winner NaVorro Bowman to injury.

Early in the fourth quarter with the Seahawks nursing a three-point lead, Seattle attempted to punch in a touchdown from just a few yards out. Bowman, who stripped Doug Baldwin of the ball had his knee bent awkwardly (as can be seen here) and was immediately carted off the field.

Unfortunately, a few bad apples allegedly decided that would be a good time to throw food at Bowman as he was being taken off the field.

Per Greg Rosenthal of NFL.com:

"Seahawks fans threw food at Bowman on his way out."

Rosenthal said he and others were watching the ‘clean’ feed of the broadcast at the NFL Network studios and the incident could be seen there.

By no stretch is this a reflection on the Seahawks fan base as a whole as every bunch has a crowd they’d rather not associate themselves with, but clearly disappointing in what otherwise was a fantastic game.
