NBA Trade Rumors: Toronto Raptors still actively shopping Kyle Lowry

With the NBA trade deadline less than a month away, teams around the NBA are starting to hammer out strategies to follow when it comes to making a deal or sitting on the sideline when offers start to fly. One such team happens to be the Toronto Raptors who are reportedly still actively shopping Kyle Lowry.

We’ve heard rumors about Lowry being traded going all the way back the the short-lived trade talks with the New York Knicks. Since then, Lowry’s value has gone up and the trade talks involving the guard have fluctuated. ESPN.com’s Chad Ford mentioned in his weekly chat session that the Raptors are still actively shopping Lowry ahead of the deadline.

They are actively shopping perhaps their best player this season — Kyle Lowry. And would really love it if they could get in a position to win the No. 1 pick — not home court advantage in the first round. That’s why.

The Lowry bit is one thing to take away from this but so too is Ford casually mentioning that the Raptors — the Eastern Conference’s third seed — want to tank for a top lottery pick.

Of the two scenarios, trading Lowry is much more likely, but the idea that the Raptors want a high lottery pick may be something to keep an eye on.
