The NBA trade deadline came and went without seeing Luol Deng move for a second time this season. But while he’s in Cleveland for the time being, the general consensus is that he’s going to be on the move this summer as he’s not likely to re-sign with the Cavs.

Among the teams who have been mentioned as showing an interest in Deng are the Dal Mavericks, Los Angeles Lakers and Orlando Magic. Right off the bat the Magic stick out, and Steve Kyler from Basketball Insiders states that they stick out because they’re not a realistic option for Deng.

"Luol is a friend. I know him very well and I can tell you he’s not looking at the Magic this summer. He is going to look for his championship ring."

This is hard to process as concrete evidence that Deng won’t sign with the Magic, but it’s clear he wants to win a title so it makes sense. Dallas was after Deng at the deadline, so they can be pegged as early frontrunners to land him in the offseason.
