The Boston Celtics were tossed around in plenty of trade rumors before the deadline passed, but they failed to pull the trigger on a third deal this season. They traded away a few players well before the deadline, but names like Rajon Rondo and Gerald Wallace stayed in Boston.

Another name that stayed in Boston and looks to continue staying in Boston is guard Avery Bradley. After being thrown into trade rumors at the deadline, the Celtics retained Bradley and it appears they’re going to do their best to keep him on the roster through the summer.

Bill Ingram from Basketball Insiders notes that the Celtics want o rebuild around Rondo and Bradley and will likely match mostly any offer he gets in the summer.

"I have to believe he is in their long-term plans, since the plan appears to be rebuilding around young talent for the long-term. Of course, with Rondo still in the mix, it’s not entirely clear what Ainge is doing. Either way, the safe answer is they match him."

There’s still a chance that Bradley is moved in the offseason and joins another team, but it’s starting to look like he’s part of the core foundation for his new era in Celtics history and that means paying a price to keep him in town.
