The San Francisco Giants use retired ‘Ball Dudes’ and ‘Ball Dudettes’ (think folks in their 50’s and 60’s) to catch foul balls. Other teams use teenagers. Some even employ their own to perform the service. But what about the Philadelphia Phillies?

Sure, they conform to the traditional standards during the regular season – but come spring training? It’s party time! That’s why instead of employing fans – young or old – the Phillies opt to use Hooters waitresses to shag foul balls.

Yep, you read that correctly – Hooters girls.

During their Sunday afternoon game against the Detroit Tigers in Florida, a few of the ladies took part in the festivities and needless to say – they took the internet by storm.

Here’s a small sampling of one lovely Hooters girl running into the outfield to receive a ball from a player.

This of course isn’t exactly a new trend as the Phillies (thanks to a partnership) have used Hooters waitresses as ball girls before, but the shorts just seem to keep getting shorter every year.
