Defensive end Michael Bennett was a standout pass rusher for the Seattle Seahawks during their Super Bowl run, but he is set to hit free agency next week and his future with the team remains uncertain.

However, as far as Bennett is concerned, the Seahawks want him to remain with the team for the remainder of his career.

“Obviously they want me to be a Seahawk for the rest of my career,” he said, via the Seattle Times. “But everything plays into the numbers. Have to make sure everything is right.”

The problem for Bennett is finding value from the team. He has made it clear that he has no intentions of taking a hometown discount, so he would need to get a respectable, multi-year contract.

If the two sides can work things out, everyone can walk away happy.

If not, Benn will walk in free agency and get his pay day.
