During the NFL free agency period, veteran defensive end Julius Peppers reached an agreement with the Green Bay Packers. He had spent the previous few seasons playing for the division rival Chicago Bears, and now he will get to continue his career with another storied franchise in the NFC North.

There is little doubt that Peppers will be able to help the Packers defense on the field, but there were some questions about what number he would be wearing on his jersey with his new team.

In 12 seasons with the Bears and Carolina Panthers, Peppers had worn No. 90.

However, B.J. Raji already had the number occupied when Peppers came to town, so he decided to switch things up.

Peppers, who is officially listed on the Packers depth chart as a DE/OLB, will be wearing No. 56, the team announced on Monday morning.

To go along with the announcement, they even released a little photo to get the fans excited.
