The Buffalo Bills and running back C.J. Spiller have been linked to possible contract talks but nothing has happened just yet.
FanSided editor Mike Dyce posted that the Bills were considering a contract extension for Spiller, but not until the NFL Draft was over with. Buffalo could be looking to add a running back during the first couple rounds of the draft, so it’ll be interesting to see what they decide to do.
“A quarterback’s best friend is the running game. That’s what we’ve had here in Buffalo: A great running game since I’ve been here, but for some reason, people start looking at that stat sheet and looking at the age and different stuff, instead of looking at production. To me, you’ve got to have a running back. You’ve got to have more than one.” C.J. Spiller via Buffalo News.
Now according to C.J. Spiller, there appears to be no timetable for contract extension talks between both parties. He’s still looking for an agent to represent him.
“II have not hired anyone yet. Hopefully I’ll get one pretty soon – I’m going to need one pretty soon. I’ve got some guys in mind that I’m looking at. I just haven’t really had enough time to sit down and see who the best agent would be for me…My previous guy, I had a unique bond with him, so that’s kind of what I’m looking for. It takes awhile to try to get a feel for guys.” Spiller on looking for a new agent via Buffalo News.
The man who helped negotiate his rookie deal passed away in 2011. Spiller finished the 2013 season with 933 rushing yards on 202 rushing attempts and two touchdowns.
