The Oklahoma City Thunder aren’t out of the playoffs yet but if they lose Game 7 tonight to the Memphis Grizzlies on Saturday they may be looking for a new head coach. There is rampant speculation that if the Thudner lose, head coach Scott Brooks will be out of a job and a new head coach will be hired.

According to Adam Zagoria of SNY.tv, the Thunder will be making a run at UConn head coach Kevin Ollie if Brooks is fired.

The move makes a lot of sense as Ollie is being coveted thanks to his journeyman status in the NBA and part of his stint as a pro involved some well respected time with the Thunder. Many of the players on the roster now, including Kevin Durant, Russell Westbrook and others were on the team that Ollie was a part of in 2010 which makes him all the more a fit for the team.

He’s not a lock to jump to the NBA, as the Huskies are trying to double his salary and retain him, but if Brook is fired then Ollie may find the job that entices him enough to convince him to make the leap to the NBA.
