With the San Diego Chargers on the clock with the No. 25 overall pick, they had to be thrilled that the run on cornerbacks started late because there were a number of quality defensive backs still available on the board that would fill their biggest area of need.

When the pick was announced, the Chargers announced that cornerback Jason Verrett of TCU was their selection.
